As the Talking Heads sing, “And you’re standing here beside me / I love the passing of time.”

Orbits is inspired by my friendships changing over time. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve had friends come in and out of my life, and I’ve come into and out of theirs. I’ve felt incredibly connected talking on the phone from thousands of miles away, and I’ve felt distant and misunderstood while sitting face to face in a secluded cabin watching the sunset.

Over the years, I’ve learned that my relationships shift. They drift in and out. We’re all our own planets in our own dreams. Sometimes these planets line up together like the most natural thing in the solar system, and sometimes it takes work - I have to remind myself to open up. And also over the years, I’ve learned to find some peace in these shifts. No one can be everything all the time. The change is as natural as the attraction itself.

So play around with Orbits. Make some friends, lower your defenses, drift out of touch for a while, and then reconnect.

“Love me till me my heart stops / Love me till I’m dead”
