It\u2019s great. It\u2019s amazing. The games inside are some of my best work yet. Lemme tell y\u2019all why I love it so.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The three games are so completely different from each other.<\/li>\n<li>The writing introducing the games is succinct. It\u2019s not anything more than it needs to be.<\/li>\n<li>I wrote the intro to the whole piece in my morning pages <i>months ago!<\/i>\u00a0It was a guide to myself as I worked on the issue and that it works as the cover essay feels really natural.<\/li>\n<li>I released the issue on time even with taking two weeks off for my wedding and honeymoon! I\u2019m proud of the planning that went into this.<\/li>\n<li><i>Orbits<\/i>\u00a0is probably the best sound design I\u2019ve ever done on a game.<\/li>\n<li><i>Adult Friend Finder<\/i>\u00a0is funny! There are parts that legit surprise me and make me laugh, and I love when my work is playful and can joke around.<\/li>\n<li><i>Inching Along<\/i>\u00a0is the most grateful game I\u2019ve ever made.<\/li>\n<li>The whole issue feels grateful to me, and that\u2019s one of my goals with my work as a whole. I want to focus on gratitude instead of despair, and I think this issue does a great job of that.<\/li>\n<li>This sentence:\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s driving through strip mall parking lots in a minivan, passing a joint around a dorm room floor, and a cross-country phone call announcing a new baby\u2019s on the way.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>I tell a true personal story about something hard.<\/li>\n<li>I get to quote Talking Heads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So that\u2019s why <i>I <\/i>love the issue. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wideopengames.com\/friends\/cover\/\">Check it out<\/a> for yourself, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wideopengames.com\/amember\/signup\">sign up<\/a> for Wide Open Games, and find your own reasons to fall in love with it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just released The Friends Issue this past Tuesday, and listen up: I LOVE IT.
